You know that one chutney that makes everything taste better? It’s green chutney.

Most Indian families often have it with their daily meals or starters. I also make it quite often because my family loves having it with lunch, dinner, or any kind of starter.

It’s actually very easy to make and hardly takes a few minutes. I usually make it with fresh coriander, mint, green chilli, ginger, and a squeeze of lemon. Just blend everything together, and that’s it.

Some days I make it extra spicy, some days I add a little more mint, and sometimes I keep it mild so everyone at home can enjoy it.

It’s fresh, tangy, spicy, and so easy to make. You can have it with dahi vada, paneer tikka, samosas, pakoras, or even with a simple dal and rice.

Basically, whenever you feel something is missing from your meal, a little green chutney can fix it. And, of course, the secret ingredient is always a little love.

Thoughtsout
Blend it fresh. A spoon on the side, and the plate feels complete.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Wash the coriander and mint leaves thoroughly and drain the excess water.
  2. Add coriander, mint, green chillies, ginger, roasted cumin powder, amchur powder, salt, and lemon juice to a blender.
  3. Add 2–3 tablespoons of water and blend until smooth.
  4. Taste and adjust the salt, lemon juice, or green chilli.
  5. Transfer to a bowl and serve fresh.
  6. Serve with dahi vada, paneer tikka, samosas, pakoras, sandwiches, or dal and rice.
  7. Store in a clean jar in the fridge. For the best taste, finish it within a few days.

Common mistakes

Too much water makes it dull. Start with 2 tablespoons and add more only if the blender sticks. A wet jar spoils it faster.
